Professor Shamma is the BP Endowed Chair and Associate Professor of Marketing at the School of Business, at The American University in Cairo (AUC), Egypt. He received his Ph.D. in Marketing from the George Washington University in Washington, DC (USA). He also holds a Bachelor’s of Arts (BA) in Business Administration with specialization in Marketing and Masters of Business Administration (MBA) with a double concentration in Marketing and International Business from the AUC.
Professor Shamma co-authored the first Arab Word Edition of Marketing Management, – the most widely used marketing book in graduate business schools worldwide – with Philip Kotler and Kevin Keller. He also published more than 20 articles in leading journals such as: the Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, Journal of Product and Brand Management, International Journal of Marketing Studies, Benchmarking: An International Journal, Journal of Islamic Marketing, International Journal of Economics & Business Research, International Journal of Commerce and Management and International Journal of Customer Relationship Marketing & Management among others. He also presented more than 40 articles at leading international conferences such as the American Marketing Association, Academy of Marketing Science and Society for Marketing Advances among others.
Professor Shamma is a consultant and trainer for several organizations in the areas of retail management, corporate reputation, corporate social responsibility and marketing strategy. He is also a speaker in various conferences and forums such as: Cityscape, Retail Development Forum, and the CSR Summit. He is specialized in examining corporate-level issues about organizations such as: corporate reputation, corporate image, and corporate performance. Some of the organizations he worked with include: Ministry of Civil Aviation, Ministry of Administrative Development, Ministry of Social Solidarity, the Arab League, Pfizer, Eva Pharma, Mentor Graphics, Orange Labs, Etisalat Misr, Goldman Sachs Women Entrepreneurship and Leadership, PRME, International Advertising Association (IAA), Flat 6 Labs, LearnServe, Fekrety, and Artrac among many others.
